First Aid Regulation Ministry of Health Date: 18.3.2004 Item 16 All companies and corporations have to train at least 1 per 20 employees about first aid. This ratio will be 1 per 10 employees for risky businesses with too many mechanical equipment, high risk of fire and mining industry. Occupational Health and Safety Regulation Ministry of Labour Date: 09.12.2003 Item 8 The items to be considered for first aid, fire fighting, evacuation and in case of serious and immediate danger are listed below: a) Employer; 1) will take all the necessary precautions for first aid, fire fighting and evacuation depending on the size of the facility, nature of the business and number of the employees. 2) should establish contact with the outside groups and make the arrangements especially about first aid, rescue, emergency medical services and fire fighting. b) Employer, should employ sufficient number of properly trained personnel about first aid, fire fighting and evacuation, depending on the size and the risks of the facility. Regulation of Health and Safety Measures for Working with Chemicals Ministry of Labour Date: 26.12.2003 Arrangements about accidents and emergency situations Item 9 Rules in case of accidents and emergency situations in work places are as follows: a) In addition to the Item 8 of Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, employers should prepare Emergency Management Plan to cover all hazardous material based accidents, incidents and all possible emergencies, with the procedures and make all the arrangements to comply with the requirements of the plan. Periodically trainings and exercises should be conducted in accordance with the plan and proper first aid measures should be taken. Regulations for Health and Safety in Construction Business Ministry of Labour Date: 23.12.2003 APPENDIX - IV 13. First Aid 13.1 Employer has to provide first aid possibility and will have sufficient number of trained employees for this purpose all the times. 13.2 Depending the type of the business and the size of the facility, if there is a need, one or more first aid rooms should be established. 13.3 First aid rooms will be equipped with proper first equipment and first aid supplies. Stretchers will always be ready to use. These spaces will be marked according to the rules. 13.4 First aid equipment will be provided for the spaces that working conditions dictate. They will be easy to access and properly marked. The addresses and telephone numbers of the local emergency health services will be posted throughout the facility Regulations to Protect Buildings from Fire Government Date: 26/7/2002 Item 127- In the residential buildings having more than 10 independent sections and all the buildings accommodating more 50 people, below teams should be established: a) Fire extinguishing (fire fighting) team, b) Rescue team, c) Protection team, d) First aid team. In the rest of the buildings and facilities teams to be established depend on the decision of the owners and managers. Teams are established with the instruction of the highest authority. Fire fighting and rescue teams should be at least 3 people each. Protection and first aid teams should be at least 2 people each. If there is an Emergency Preparation Organization (Civil Defence) the above duties might be covered by this organization. Item 131- The managers of official and private Fire Brigade services should be trained by Civil Defence Headquarters. Training for the rest of the team will be accomplished by their own companies or corporations. |
